On top of the six trim options, the Sierra 1500 offers multiple engine and transmission options and can also be equipped with four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.

What Changes Have Been Made to the 2024 Sierra Lineup?

As we mentioned, there are changes for each 2024 Sierra model that are worth noting. On the 2024 Sierra 1500, you will find expanded availability of certain features, and the new TurboMax base engine comes with an enhanced powertrain warranty. What’s more, the Duramax diesel engine is now standard on the off-road-oriented AT4X trim level, making it even more capable of trekking off the beaten path than ever before.
 
The heavy-duty 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD gets its own AT4X trim level for the first time, which is perfect for off-road enthusiasts looking for a fun ride across the Texas wilderness. This trim level will feature two powertrain options, a new design aesthetic, and––of course––a sophisticated suspension. Aside from that, however, the lineup remains relatively intact. The 2024 Sierra 3500 HD sees the fewest changes but remains a luxurious one-ton option.
 
One of the most anticipated additions to the Sierra lineup is the introduction of the 2024 Sierra EV. This all-electric truck delivers next-gen power, getting an estimated 400 miles of range on a full charge. The largest infotainment touchscreen seen in a Sierra––measuring no less than 16.8 inches––makes its debut on the Sierra EV. The 2024 Sierra 1500

The Sierra 1500 has been a staple of the GMC lineup for a while now, and the 2024 Sierra 1500 sticks with the tradition of offering rugged performance and plenty of high-tech gadgets. You get more control and precision both on the road and off of it.
 
The 2024 Sierra 2500 HD’s max towing capacity sits at a whopping 22,500 lbs when equipped with the available 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. The 2024 Sierra 3500 HD has an even more impressive max towing capacity of 36,000 lbs, meaning that you can tow some seriously hefty cargo behind this truck. The Sierra HD models come with the most trailering-assist features in their class, allowing you to use advanced tech to tow more confidently and see enhanced camera views around your trailer.
 
The 2024 Sierra EV

The biggest change to the Sierra lineup is the 2024 Sierra EV, a full-size, fully-electric pickup truck. Built on GM’s Ultium platform, the Sierra EV has some similarities to the GMC Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado EV––all of which share the same platform. The Sierra EV, however, has an incredible vertical center display for its infotainment system. The Sierra EV launches with the limited-edition Denali Edition 1, which is the sole version of the Sierra EV available for reservation. More trim levels are set to debut for the 2025 model year.
 
The Sierra EV is powered by two electric motors that, in Max Power mode, deliver about 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. There are five drive modes in all: Standard, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, the customizable My Mode, and Max Power. Max towing is rated at 9,500 lbs, and CrabWalk will be available with four-wheel steering. This lets the truck turn the rear wheels at the same angle as the front wheels so the Sierra EV can move diagonally through tight spaces. Max regenerative braking comes from one-pedal driving. You can expect to get about 400 miles of range on a full charge and use DC fast-charging to recharge at up to 350 kW. You will be able to add 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes so you can quickly get back out on the road.

If you’re looking for a fantastic SUV or truck, then GMC has you covered with a selection of the most impressive and stylish models on the road. As your GMC dealership near Corpus Christi, TX, we’re sure it’s no surprise that we’re fans of their lineup, but even with any preferences we might have aside, there’s no denying that what GMC offers is extraordinary. The beauty of their lineup is that it has been streamlined nicely to offer the perfect selection of vehicles, presenting you with excellent variety without going overboard or giving you too much to choose from. There is such a thing as too many options, after all.

That being said, you still have plenty of amazing choices available to you with the GMC lineup, so it can help to take a look at all of them and get a sense of what’s on offer. Fantastic GMC SUVs

The GMC Terrain

First up is the GMC Terrain, a compact crossover model designed to perfectly meet your needs if you are looking for a smaller option that still delivers remarkable SUV functionality. GMC has made its SUV lineup simple by only having three/four models (depending on how you consider them), and this is the smallest model they make. There’s a single engine available here for sporty performance, though you still have numerous options for trim levels and the features you get inside and out. This is a two-row model with seating for up to five passengers inside, making it a terrific choice if you want something that can fit into a modest lifestyle while still giving you a spacious interior for friends and family.

The GMC Acadia

The GMC Acadia is a larger model than the Terrain, though it’s still far from the biggest SUV that you’ll find in GMC’s lineup. This is a three-row model, giving you room inside for up to seven passengers; keep in mind that the third row can be a bit small for adults with long legs. You get plenty of functional space inside this SUV, including almost 13 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume, more than 41 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row, and 79 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. There are two engines offered on the Acadia, and we’re big fans of the available 3.6L V6 with its 310 hp for an exciting time behind the wheel.

The GMC Yukon/Yukon XL

Finally, we have two options for a full-size SUV from GMC; you can think of the Yukon and Yukon XL as two different models in terms of their size, but they offer nearly identical features and options in most other ways. No matter which one you choose, you’ll get a full-size SUV with three rows of seating inside. There are three engines available for both of the Yukon models, including a powerful 6.2L V8 with 420 hp, as well as a Turbo-Diesel if that’s something you’re interested in for your next SUV.

The major distinction between the two Yukon models is their size: the Yukon XL is quite a bit longer than the Yukon, with a longer wheelbase too. This comes through in several ways, but the easiest way to understand the difference between them is by looking at the cargo space inside. The Yukon has more than 25 cu.ft. of rear cargo space, with more than 72 cu.ft. of space behind the second row and nearly 123 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. With the Yukon XL, you’ll find more than 41 cu.ft. of rear cargo space, almost 94 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row, and more than 144 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front row.

Powerful GMC Trucks

The GMC Canyon

First, we have the Canyon, which is a midsize pickup that’s perfect if you want something with impressive power and capability that won’t be too big. There’s no denying that full-size trucks are incredibly popular, but there can be “too much truck” for some people. The midsize Canyon comes with a 2.7L Turbo engine that delivers 310 hp, giving you impressive power packed into its modest frame. This gives the Canyon up to 7,700 lbs of maximum towing capacity and up to 1,640 lbs of payload capacity. Despite its smaller size, you can still get plenty of work done with the Canyon, plus the available AT4 trim is perfect for going off-road.

The GMC Sierra 1500

If the Canyon is not quite big enough for you, then the full-size light-duty GMC Sierra 1500 is the perfect choice. This pickup gives you more room to utilize, plus numerous engines to choose from so that it can handle as much work as you need it to. It starts with the same impressive 2.7L Turbo engine as the Canyon, but available options include a 420-hp 6.2L V8 engine and a 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel with 495 lb-ft of torque. 

With either the 6.2L V8 or the diesel engine, the Sierra 1500 can handle up to 13,000 lbs of towing, giving you fantastic power and capability to tackle just about anything you throw at it. There are tons of different trims available, so you can get just what you need, including off-road focused AT4 options and the new Denali Ultimate with incredible luxury and technology packed into it.

The GMC Sierra HD Series

While the Sierra 1500 is a fantastic truck, you might still need more power than it can offer; in which case, one of the Sierra HD models is perfect for your more challenging needs. The Sierra 2500 HD is a powerful full-size truck that can handle up to 18,510 lbs of towing thanks to its available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine with 910 lb-ft of torque. For truly extraordinary power and capability, however, the GMC Sierra 3500 HD is unbeatable thanks to an available dual-rear-wheel configuration that offers up to 36,000 lbs of gooseneck or fifth-wheel towing. Combine all that power with the luxury of the Denali trim, and you have something truly special to take to the job site.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup

Finally, we have something new and particularly exciting: the Hummer EV Pickup, an all-electric marvel that combines incredible power with exquisite sophistication to create one of the most remarkable Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) on the market. You have two different configurations to choose from, with either two motors or three motors, delivering up to 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. All of this power lets the Hummer EV Pickup go from 0 to 60 in just 3.0 seconds, while innovative technology like the Crabwalk function and Extract Mode is perfect for navigating tight quarters and getting through tough situations on the trail.

The GMC Sierra 1500

For the 2023 model year, GMC continues to build on the legendary reputation of the Sierra pickup, including an available second-generation Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine that delivers 10% more horsepower and 7.6% more torque than last year’s model. This impressive upgrade means the available Turbo-Diesel can now handle more trailering than any other engine for the Sierra 1500, giving it up to 13,200 lbs of maximum towing capacity.

Inside the Sierra 1500, you’ll find an incredible interior with amazing available features like a 13.4-inch Infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology. A GMC Pro Safety package is standard, so every model comes with a forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and much more. For 2023, an all-new AT4X AEV Edition is now available with a unique design and features that are perfect for going off-road. The GMC Sierra HD Series

For amazing power that goes beyond what the Sierra 1500 can do, take a good look at the GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks. These heavy-duty models take performance and capability to the next level, giving you great choices if you need the highest levels of payload and towing ability. The Sierra 2500 HD can handle more than 3,900 lbs of maximum payload and up to 18,500 lbs of towing. With the Sierra 3500 HD, you can get more than 7,000 lbs of maximum payload capacity and up to 36,000 lbs of gooseneck/fifth-wheel towing when properly equipped. You have powerful gas and diesel engines to choose from, so you can get the heavy-duty muscle you need with fantastic technology for connectivity and towing.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup

One of the most innovative trucks out there, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup showcases GM’s incredible new Ultium battery architecture to deliver amazing power and performance. The available three-motor model offers 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of axle torque to give you a driving experience beyond anything else you can find. Combine that with incredible new technology like the Watts to Freedom system (letting it go from 0 to 60 in about 3 seconds) and CrabWalk functionality with an available Extract Mode that can give you heightened ground clearance and diagonal driving to help you get out of any spot.

Able to get an estimated 329 miles of range from a full charge, the Hummer EV Pickup can get about 100 miles of range from a 10-minute charge. Add onto this the ability to tow up to 7,500 lbs and handle up to 1,300 lbs of payload capacity, and you have an all-electric truck beyond anything else out there. Plus, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup takes technology even further with GM’s innovative new Super Cruise hands-free driving system, which was recently updated to include automatic lane changing. This remarkable tech functions on more than 200,000 miles of compatible roads in the US and Canada.

The GMC Terrain

If you’re looking for a sporty crossover, the Terrain is a great place to start, as it’s the smallest of the three SUVs available from GMC. For the 2023 model year, the standard 1.5L Turbo engine has been improved and now delivers 175 hp for enhanced performance and a terrific driving experience. Available in numerous trims, including GMC’s remarkable Denali trim, the Terrain has an available 8-inch infotainment system, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and much more. You can get the same features on both SUVs, but the Yukon XL is longer with an extended wheelbase; the standard Yukon has up to 122.9 cu.ft. of total cargo volume inside, while the Yukon XL gives you 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the front row.
