When it comes to popularity, everyone has an opinion. Who’s popular? Why? Is being popular a good thing? Some might say that popularity is fleeting and that it’s a social construct that allows those with money, good looks, or other desirable assets to wield power over the rest. Others might say popularity is a good thing because it allows those with talent to rise to the top. When it comes to cars, popularity is not so different, but it does tend to carry more weight. When a vehicle is popular, there are more factors that come into play––style and design, performance, tech features, safety ratings, and more.
This type of popularity depends on the quality of a vehicle rather than just looks alone. That’s why when you visit a GMC dealer like us, you’ll see these five most popular models on the lot. GMC’s vehicles are known for being driver-friendly, with plenty of modern style and tech for any driver. So, what specifically is it about these five models that always manage to capture our attention?
#1 – GMC Sierra 1500
This highly customizable pickup has been popular ever since its introduction to the GMC family. New or used, the GMC Sierra 1500 is incredibly versatile, and one of the benefits of its flexibility is that you may score a used Sierra 1500 with maxed-out features. If you buy new, you’re able to configure the cab, truck bed, powertrain, and trim level to your exact tastes, whether you’re looking for a work truck or something more luxurious for your daily commute.
One of the reasons the Sierra 1500 has remained on the list of best-selling vehicles is that it has one of the highest tow ratings available on the market. If you’re looking for something that can haul and tow from job site to job site or from campground to campground, you won’t find much competition for the GMC Sierra 1500. Newer models can tow over 13,000 lbs, giving you plenty to work with as you tow trailers, campers, recreational vehicles, and the like. The inside can be outfitted with luxurious leather and a massive infotainment center, which means you can let the truck do the heavy lifting while you sit back and enjoy the ride.
#2 – GMC Terrain
If you’re looking for a unique compact SUV, the GMC Terrain is an excellent option. Its appearance does not conjure images of running errands or packing it full of children for the daily trek to school. Rather, its bold lines and wide stance leave you wanting to go off-road adventuring. That being said, one of the reasons the GMC Terrain is so popular is that its beefy looks hide a spacious interior, with plenty of room for groceries, camping equipment, or passengers. Many compact SUVs only offer cramped seating, so the GMC Terrain definitely gains popularity points for this necessary feature.
If you’ve been eyeing our inventory, give us a call to see if we have a GMC Terrain on hand that can be test-driven. You’ll enjoy the extra room to stretch out in and see the difference it makes when there’s additional passenger and storage space. Sometimes, it’s the things you don’t notice until you’re given a better option that makes a popular vehicle shine. The GMC Terrain is just such a vehicle, and you’ll revel in its luxurious spaciousness as well as its modern tech features.
#3 – GMC Yukon
Do you need something larger than a compact SUV? Maybe you’ve been looking for something for a larger family or a vehicle that can switch from commuter to camper in a matter of minutes. No matter your reason for needing a full-size SUV, the GMC Yukon is one of the most popular choices on the market. Why? Because it’s luxurious and spacious, with additional room available if you go with the longer wheelbase Yukon XL model. You can also go with a diesel engine instead of a gasoline engine, should you wish––the gasoline engine is a V8, while the diesel option is a turbocharged inline-six.
We know why the Yukon is such a popular model––who can resist a powerful, spacious, and luxurious vehicle? It combines the best features of any SUV, resulting in a stunning, incredibly comfortable vehicle for road trips, field trips, camping trips, and more. This is one model you have to see to believe, so if you run across one, take a peek and imagine what it would be like to ride in the lap of such luxury. Wouldn’t you like to take the wheel and find out for yourself just how good it feels to command such power?
#4 – GMC Acadia
Do you need an SUV for the family but have your heart set on a truck? There’s a GMC just for you––the ever-popular Acadia. This three-row SUV drives like a dream, and as a bonus, the front styling makes it look like a truck. Inspired style and design meld together in a quietly powerful vehicle for drivers who need more seating but want to feel like they’re driving something that can still get down and dirty. We sometimes find it challenging to keep this model in stock due to the unique look of the GMC Acadia and its overall performance. If you decide you want to get in the driver’s seat of the GMC Acadia, you’ll find it incredibly comfortable, with plenty of amenities and updated necessities to make things interesting.
Along with its impressive drivability and styling, the GMC Acadia garners additional popularity points for its bold coloring, navigation capabilities, and standard luxury features. This SUV stands out in the best way possible, as any GMC dealer will tell you. People are drawn to it for many reasons other than its good looks and stellar performance, but you’ll have to drive one yourself before it gives up all its secrets. Intrigued? Join the club.
#5 – GMC Canyon
Are you looking for a pickup that’s more like an agile predator than a lumbering beast of burden? Check out the midsize GMC Canyon. Every trim of this truck is designed for adventure. Whether you choose the Elevation or the AT4X, you’ll experience nimble movement, raw power, and a whole lot of fun. You can also haul and tow at the highest level since the GMC Canyon has best-in-class towing capabilities. Home DIY projects, tailgate parties, and mudding are a cinch when you’ve got the GMC Canyon at your side.
This popular midsize pickup is a favorite among drivers who want to go off-roading on the weekends but need something more practical during the week. Due to its high-class interior, up-to-date tech, and staying power, the GMC Canyon is a popular choice for city dwellers and suburbanites alike. Remember, you can have it all with the GMC Canyon. There are plenty of options when it comes to finding a truck, especially with so many makes and models out there. But, if you want a model built from experience and made to last, then looking for GMC trucks for sale is your best bet. A GMC truck is equipped with all the right stuff and has what it takes to conquer the road ahead, which is particularly important if you live in an area like Texas, where the road ahead can change dramatically.
Whether it is snow and ice or long dirt roads, Texas can pose many obstacles. Of course, if you are riding in a truck built by GMC, those roads ahead become much easier. From loads of safety features to impressive capability, there is a GMC truck for pretty much every need. Although you really can’t go wrong with a GMC truck, we have made it a bit easier by highlighting three of our favorite models and model years so you can find the truck that is right for you.
2020 GMC Sierra 1500
The GMC Sierra 1500 has been around the block a time or two, with its history going back to the late 1980s. Externally, the model hasn’t changed a whole lot over the last few years, which is fine by us. New or used, the Sierra 1500 is a fantastic full-size pickup, leading the segment and winning over truck lovers.
If you are in the market for a used model, consider the 2020 Sierra 1500, which has a whole slew of features worth mentioning. One of the biggest appeals is the vast assortment of options available to choose from. The 2020 model is available in six trims, ranging from the basic work truck style and working its way up to the rough and tumble AT4 and the luxurious Denali. On top of the six trim options, the Sierra 1500 offers multiple engine and transmission options and can also be equipped with four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.
Inside the cab, drivers are treated to a comfortable and well-equipped ride. The Sierra 1500 is spacious, especially if you choose one of the larger cab styles. Select trims include luxury features like heated front and rear leather seats, a driver memory system, lumbar support for the front row, and a premium seven-speaker Bose sound system.
The Multi-Pro tailgate adds practicality to the already work-ready truck, with six different positions to better manage your cargo. The 2020 Sierra 1500 has a maximum payload of 2,240 lbs, and the available carbon fiber bed will most likely have you volunteering for every haul there is. If towing is more your speed, the 2020 model has a maximum trailering capacity of 12,100 lbs and can be equipped with advanced towing tech.
2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X
The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 offers the new AT4X trim, which is even more off-road ready than the already well-equipped AT4. This may be a specific trim, but it definitely deserves its own section. With a 6.2L V8 at its core, the AT4X produces a whopping 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque––plenty of muscle to take on whatever the Texas landscape can throw at you. The V8 is mated with a ten-speed automatic transmission for precise, buttery smooth shifting.
The AT4X takes off-roading to the next level with front and rear E-locking differentials, an exclusive feature no other truck in its class offers. A two-inch factory lift helps the AT4X clear rocks, water, and more, so you won’t find yourself stopped by any obstacle. This lift is accompanied by large all-terrain tires and steel skid plates that add extra protection to the undercarriage.
The AT4X trim also features the Multi-Pro tailgate for loading and unloading, but there is an extra feature to be found here as well. A special audio system specially designed for the Multi-Pro tailgate is perfect for enjoying the great outdoors. This sound system is weatherproof, with an amplifier discreetly tucked away. Compatible devices can be connected via a jack or Bluetooth, which allows for wireless streaming so you can enjoy nature and music all at once.
This fully loaded trim comes with everything to make a day out enjoyable. Wi-Fi hotspot capability will let you stay connected wherever you go, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto add convenient and hassle-free phone integration. Heated seats, upscale interior finishes, and innovative tech finish off the most off-road capable GMC Sierra you can get your hands on.
2023 GMC Canyon
It was a tough call on whether to go with one of the older models of the Canyon or the newest model because, just like the rest of the GMC line-up, there are plenty of fantastic choices. The 2023 Canyon is a great option for anyone looking for the latest and greatest GMC has to offer. The name tells you a lot, as the Canyon is another GMC off-road warrior. From factory lifts to specialized suspension, the Canyon is ideal for exploring the unique landscapes around you.
When you look at the trim options, narrowing it down to just one top choice might be difficult. At first glance, you would think the 2023 Canyon line is made up of all top trims, with no base models in sight. That is thanks to GMC’s generosity when it came to loading up each and every trim of the Canyon with features. There are four trims available on the 2023 model, starting with the Elevation, followed by the AT4, Denali, and lastly, the AT4X.
The Canyon can tow and haul with the best of them, but that isn’t the truck’s focus. Instead, this truck shines when stomping the trails. The Elevation trim is perfect for drivers looking to dip their toes in the downright dirty off-roading world. It offers all-terrain tires, an off-road display, and a few other gadgets and gizmos to help you along your way.
The AT4 is where the oh-so-awesome locking differential comes into play, increasing traction and helping you avoid those ruts. The locking differential is for the rear, with automatic locking. This works with standard four-wheel drive and Off-Road and Terrain drive modes, which prime the Canyon for the adventures ahead. The next trim, the Denali, features more luxurious finishes and comforts for drivers who don’t want to rough it.
The Canyon AT4X takes off-roading to a whole new level. This trim adds front and rear E-locking differentials, a combination that optimizes traction and off-road performance. A first in its segment, the Canyon AT4X is provided with front and rear underbody cameras. These unique views let you monitor essential parts when traveling over challenging terrain. The views don’t end there either, with eight other camera angles. In case you miss a step, the AT4X also comes equipped with rocker protection to help keep that paint job pristine and transfer case protection to protect the drivetrain.
So Much More
These are only a handful of the truck options available from GMC. With a very long and rich history of developing quality, stylish, and capable trucks, your selection is nearly endless. Older models are great because they have been put through real-world testing. With the option to see a vehicle’s past through our complimentary CARFAX vehicle history reports, you can get a great idea of its current condition. Then there are the latest models, each brimming with new and wonderful tech and features.
It can be almost impossible to decide on one truck when you are faced with so many great options, and if we are being honest, there are many more GMC trucks to consider than what has been named here. But, for a truck that can take on almost anything and do it with GMC ingenuity, we suggest starting with these and seeing where the road takes you. After all, isn’t that what GMC is all about? Exploring possibilities and pushing your limits is what a GMC truck is built for.

What Changes Have Been Made to the 2024 Sierra Lineup?
As we mentioned, there are changes for each 2024 Sierra model that are worth noting. On the 2024 Sierra 1500, you will find expanded availability of certain features, and the new TurboMax base engine comes with an enhanced powertrain warranty. What’s more, the Duramax diesel engine is now standard on the off-road-oriented AT4X trim level, making it even more capable of trekking off the beaten path than ever before.
The heavy-duty 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD gets its own AT4X trim level for the first time, which is perfect for off-road enthusiasts looking for a fun ride across the Texas wilderness. This trim level will feature two powertrain options, a new design aesthetic, and––of course––a sophisticated suspension. Aside from that, however, the lineup remains relatively intact. The 2024 Sierra 3500 HD sees the fewest changes but remains a luxurious one-ton option.
One of the most anticipated additions to the Sierra lineup is the introduction of the 2024 Sierra EV. This all-electric truck delivers next-gen power, getting an estimated 400 miles of range on a full charge. The largest infotainment touchscreen seen in a Sierra––measuring no less than 16.8 inches––makes its debut on the Sierra EV. This truck offers GMC’s eTrunk design for increased cargo space, and the model has a lot of high-end, luxurious appointments inside its cabin.
The 2024 Sierra 1500
The Sierra 1500 has been a staple of the GMC lineup for a while now, and the 2024 Sierra 1500 sticks with the tradition of offering rugged performance and plenty of high-tech gadgets. The truck’s exterior style is bold, to say the least, offering a prominent grille, a hood sculpted to perfection, and eye-catching LED headlights. Chrome accents punctuate the body’s design, adding a degree of sophistication and distinctiveness. There are even some 22-inch wheels that you can opt for if you want more stability and style.
Of course, the Sierra 1500 is no slouch when it comes to delivering top-notch performance. This truck offers multiple powertrain options that meet a diverse range of needs that different drivers have. The new 2.7L TurboMax engine comes standard, making 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. An available 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. There are also two V8 options: a 5.3L V8 that is good for 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and a 6.2L V8 that serves up 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The TurboMax engine is matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the optional power plants all come with a 10-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard for most trim levels, but there is also optional four-wheel drive.
The Sierra 1500 is incredibly comfortable and packed with innovative technology. The interior showcases a high degree of refinement, with optional leather-appointed seats offering a lot of luxury. The infotainment system is straightforward and lets you seamlessly connect via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to access your favorite smartphone apps. Many advanced driver aids are also included, and you can opt for even more enhanced features like the HD Surround Vision system, which gives you a bird’s-eye view around the truck.
The 2024 Sierra HD
As the “HD” in its name implies, the Sierra 2500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD are the heavy-duty variants of the Sierra family. With the AT4X trim level now available, these trucks deliver even more off-roading prowess. The AT4X looks quite a lot like the other trims in the lineup, but it has a unique front fascia and distinctive AT4X badging that make it distinguishable.
If you decide to order the AT4X, you get a 1.5-inch lifted ride for improved ground clearance, 35-inch Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires, and an electronically controlled locking rear differential. New upper and lower control arms have been put onto the front end, and there is a massive steel skid plate that protects the transfer case. Multimatic DSSV dampers––which are swapped in for the AT4’s twin-tube Rancho shocks––are standard equipment on the AT4X, meaning you get better tuning to help control damping. You get more control and precision both on the road and off of it.
The 2024 Sierra 2500 HD’s max towing capacity sits at a whopping 22,500 lbs when equipped with the available 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. The 2024 Sierra 3500 HD has an even more impressive max towing capacity of 36,000 lbs, meaning that you can tow some seriously hefty cargo behind this truck. The Sierra HD models come with the most trailering-assist features in their class, allowing you to use advanced tech to tow more confidently and see enhanced camera views around your trailer.
The 2024 Sierra EV
The biggest change to the Sierra lineup is the 2024 Sierra EV, a full-size, fully-electric pickup truck. Built on GM’s Ultium platform, the Sierra EV has some similarities to the GMC Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado EV––all of which share the same platform. The Sierra EV, however, has an incredible vertical center display for its infotainment system. The Sierra EV launches with the limited-edition Denali Edition 1, which is the sole version of the Sierra EV available for reservation. More trim levels are set to debut for the 2025 model year.
The Sierra EV is powered by two electric motors that, in Max Power mode, deliver about 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. There are five drive modes in all: Standard, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, the customizable My Mode, and Max Power. Max towing is rated at 9,500 lbs, and CrabWalk will be available with four-wheel steering. This lets the truck turn the rear wheels at the same angle as the front wheels so the Sierra EV can move diagonally through tight spaces. Max regenerative braking comes from one-pedal driving. You can expect to get about 400 miles of range on a full charge and use DC fast-charging to recharge at up to 350 kW. You will be able to add 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes so you can quickly get back out on the road.

Did you know Port Lavaca is one of Texas’ best-kept secrets? It’s easy to get lost in your daily routine and forget the appeal of Port Lavaca and its small-town charm. Located in the middle of the state’s 275-mile stretch along the Gulf Coast, the town offers something unique between its coastal landscape and the vibrant fishing industry to its tourism and reputation as a haven for those looking to escape colder climates. Of course, as a Port Lavaca native, you already know this, but what if your life in this coastal town could be even better?
As the leading GMC dealer near Port Lavaca, Victory GMC is here to help transform your experience behind the wheel with a truck like the best-selling Sierra 1500. The Sierra has been a staple in the GMC lineup since the late 1990s, introducing drivers to luxury via premium trims like the Denali and adventure via the iconic AT4. But what are the most significant differences between these trims, particularly in how they can impact your life in Port Lavaca? We’re here to answer that with a closer look at the Sierra 1500 Denali and the Sierra 1500 AT4, particularly the 2023 models.
#1. Price Point and Overall Value
GMC has always recognized the importance of giving drivers plenty of options, particularly in offering several trims with distinct personalities and purposes. The 2023 Sierra 1500 is no exception, with Port Lavaca drivers enjoying plenty of choices, including the top-tier Denali and adventurous AT4. The Sierra 1500 Denali, starting at $65,800, focuses on luxury as the segment’s most opulent and innovative truck.[a] It rolls off the factory floor with a potent V8 engine, a digital cockpit, premium leather upholstery, wood trim accents throughout the cabin, and a host of available technologies like Super Cruise. It’s an incredible combination that guarantees you’ll travel in style wherever life takes you in and around Port Lavaca.
The Sierra 1500 AT4 takes a different approach, blending luxury and capability to deliver an exceptional experience on and off the road. Starting at $66,800, the Sierra 1500 AT4 can satisfy your penchant for adventure, courtesy of its off-road components that stretch from its suspension and shocks to its beefier tires and four-wheel drive system.[a] Moreover, it proves rugged adventures beyond Port Lavaca don’t have to be rugged at all, courtesy of its exclusive leather interior with heated and ventilated front seats, expansive digital displays, and cutting-edge technologies to keep you connected and informed.
#2. Performance and Efficiency
The Sierra 1500 is a powerhouse, especially when Port Lavaca drivers get behind the wheel of the AT4 or Denali. The Sierra’s multi-engine lineup is impressive, but its top-tier trims get the best of the best. For example, the AT4 comes with GMC’s legendary 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine and 10-speed automatic transmission that produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque for incredible low-end power that doesn’t compromise the truck’s impressive fuel economy of 21 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. Alternatively, you can swap the Duramax for the 6.2L V8 and enjoy 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Where the Sierra A1500 AT4 rolls off the production line with the Duramax or the 6.2L V8, the Denali offers Port Lavaca drivers another choice. Its standard powertrain is GMC’s proven 5.3L V8 engine, producing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. This output is enough to make the full-size truck agile and responsive in any condition, whether navigating downtown Port Lavaca or venturing beyond the city limits to Corpus Christi via Texas State Hwy 35. Moreover, the 5.3L conservatively sips fuel for a truck this size, averaging 16 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway, saving Port Lavaca drivers more money at the pump.
#3. On-Road and Off-Road Capability
The Sierra 1500 Denali and Sierra 1500 AT4 serve two distinct driving needs. Where one offers exceptional on-road manners, the other is ready to answer the call of the wild and explore beyond the pavement. The Sierra Denali exceeds every expectation of what a full-size truck should be, blending luxury with capability. GMC accomplishes this balance in several ways.
First, the truck is a workhorse capable of towing over 13,000 lbs, but that capability doesn’t compromise its handling or your comfort. That leads us to our second point; the Denali’s keen attention to detail to prioritize your comfort. The Sierra’s Denali lineup offers best-in-class front head and legroom on its Crew Cab models, MultiPro Power Assist Steps for easy ingress and egress, premium leather seating, and best-in-class 16-way power front seats with a built-in massage feature.
Where the Denali is ideal for sticking to the pavement, the AT4 is destined to get a little mud on the tires. Port Lavaca drivers can do so confidently, thanks to the AT4’s two-inch factory-installed suspension lift with Rancho Monotube shocks, two-speed AutoTrac transfer case, and underbody skid plates. Beefier trims like the AT4X take this capability to the next level by adding GMC’s race-inspired Multimatic DSSV Spool-Valve Dampers that ensure the truck seamlessly transitions between the pavement and the trail. It also comes standard with front and rear e-locking differentials, heightening its maneuverability on more technical terrain beyond the Port Lavaca city limits.
#4. Connectivity and Entertainment Features
Wherever the road takes you in and around Port Lavaca, you can rest easy knowing the Sierra Denali and Sierra AT4 will keep you connected and informed. The Sierra’s top-tier trims are distinct in terms of purpose and capability, but their technologies are the same because GMC refuses to ask drivers to compromise or settle for less. You’ll see this firsthand in the Sierra’s modern cockpit, which features an expansive suite of digital displays and seamless connectivity features.
The Denali and AT4 enjoy the same tech-savvy features, each boasting a 13.4-inch center touchscreen display with the GMC infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and Google Built-In compatibility. GMC also outfits the models with a 12.3-inch Digital Driver Information Center that gives you vital information like speed, mileage, and navigational cues. This information takes center stage when you add the 15-inch head-up display, a feature available on both models that ensures your focus stays on the road.
Beyond the expansive digital displays, the Sierra Denali and Sierra AT4 offer premium entertainment when you opt for trims like the Denali Ultimate and AT4X. These models feature a 12-speaker Bose Premium Series sound system that delivers an immersive listening experience throughout the cabin. It’s the perfect setup whether you’re traveling along US 87 to Victoria, running errands around town, or heading south to Port O’Connor.
#5. Safety and Driver-Assist Tools
Port Lavaca drivers can confidently get behind the wheel of the Sierra knowing that GMC prioritizes their safety. Top-tier trims like the Sierra Denali and Sierra AT4 build on the standard GMC Pro Safety suite. This suite equips the Sierra with Automatic Emergency Braking and forward-facing features like a Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and IntelliBeam automatic high beams. It also includes Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.
These standard driver-assist features are impressive, but the Sierra Denali and Denali Ultimate take your experience further by adding GMC’s revolutionary Super Cruise technology. As the industry’s first true hands-free driver-assist feature, Super Cruise works on over 400,000 miles of compatible roadways throughout North America so that you can take your hands off the wheel and enjoy the ride beyond Port Lavaca’s city limits. Using map data, sensors, and radars, Super Cruise makes traveling at highway speeds easier and more enjoyable. Moreover, it can automatically change lanes and knows when the Sierra is pulling a trailer. It’s an incredible system that Port Lavaca drivers will appreciate, especially those that spend a lot of time on the highway.
Adventure or Luxury? The Choice Is Yours
Which Sierra 1500 will you choose? GMC guarantees an incredible experience anytime you’re in the driver’s seat of a truck like the best-selling Sierra 1500. That means the real question is whether you’re looking for luxury and refined on-road manners or a truck that can answer the call of the wild beyond the city limits of Port Lavaca. Visit us today at Victory GMC, and we’ll be more than happy to help you decide!

There’s a GMC Truck for All Purposes

Often, a customer will ask us which GMC truck is the best. If only there were a simple answer! The truth is that there is no one truck that can always be considered number one. Your experience, profession, and location can radically change what truck will work best for you and your needs. We’ve been serving the Victoria, Texas, area for years, and we’ve seen people from all walks of life come in looking for a new truck. Over time, we’ve discovered which truck matches which type of customer. Let us walk you through what our trucks can do and who they can serve so that you have an idea of what model will help make your working life easier and more exciting.
If you’ve been looking for GMC trucks for sale, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re just browsing or trying to decide if you want a truck at all, then you’ve still come to the right place. We are here to show you why the GMC Canyon and Sierra models are the ultimate working person’s vehicles.
What’s There to Consider?
If you’re planning to drive in a city a lot, then the truck that will match your needs might not be the same as someone who plans to haul up and down the highway most of the time. Similarly, if you live in an area where parking is scarce or where your driveway is narrow, then the truck you need might be far different than the one your neighbor with a wide driveway would want. There are a lot of factors that at first might seem minor that can affect which truck is your ideal purchase.
What Type of Work Do You Do?
The work you do will be one of the deciding factors in what GMC Sierra truck you need. If you’re going to be towing considerable weight, then you’ll naturally want to check out the biggest option: the Sierra 3500 HD. Thanks to its available Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine, the 2023 model can tow up to an astonishing 36,000 pounds. This comes in handy if you need to tow a trailer that’s considerably larger than your truck or if you have to move construction equipment like a crane or even a tractor. Its payload is similarly impressive, topping out at 7,442 pounds when you have the 6.6L V8 gas engine under the hood. Even better, the bed is designed so that you can maximize its space. After all, you don’t want to end up with a truck that can carry a lot, but the design prevents you from utilizing its capability.
However, many workers who tow or haul do not need numbers that high. If you’re going to be carrying some equipment but don’t need to move mountains, then opting for a Sierra 1500 might be the move to make. This light-duty truck still offers great capability: it can tow up to 13,000 pounds. Why opt for that over the Sierra HD? Price can be a factor. If your vehicle is for work, then you might not want to spend more than you need to, especially if your truck doesn’t need large amounts of capability.
If your work may require the use of a bed every now and again, but you won’t be towing or hauling too much weight, you might want to opt for the midsize GMC Canyon. This model is smaller, gets better gas mileage, and the 2023 model can still handle up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity when fully equipped. Knowing how much weight you need to manage for work is the main deciding factor for most drivers. However, the truck’s structural design is just as important to consider, as is your comfort level behind the wheel.
Size and Navigation
If you’ve moved to a new line of work and you know you need to upgrade your ride, then the Sierra HD models may seem like an attractive choice. Menacing, capable, and dominant, the Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD can give off quite the siren’s call. However, if it’s your first time driving a truck, you may not want to go for the biggest option right away.
Light-duty trucks weigh less and are a little less lengthy than heavy-duty models. For some, that’s a downside, but for others, it might be a less intimidating option. The first time you own a truck, the biggest option could end up having a steep learning curve for you. More truck means more maneuvering. You might find parking and navigation a bit more difficult if you aren’t used to a vehicle of a larger size. Light-duty trucks like the Sierra 1500 are full-size, but they don’t have quite the same level of bulk as an HD model. They also benefit from better gas mileage due to a lighter build.
In terms of size and navigation, a midsize truck is going to be the most nimble. These trucks are about the size of a midsize SUV, so you will find them much easier and smoother to drive, and parking or navigating through tight streets will be much less stressful. This makes them easier to handle in tight circumstances, be that city streets or narrow driveways. The Canyon is especially friendly to new truck drivers and can, in a sense, be viewed as a starter truck. A lot of our customers start with a midsize model for their first purchase and then move to a light-duty or heavy-duty truck a few years later.
Design Preferences
As much as you are looking for a truck with the specs you require to get your job done, that doesn’t mean that design and aesthetics can’t also play a role in your decision-making. After all, if you are using your truck for work, it should be something you like the look of and feel comfortable in.
One of the biggest selling points of the GMC brand is the Denali line of trims. Available for all of the truck models, the Denali name means luxury. These trucks have uniquely designed grilles and interiors that scream power and opulence. They are the luxury option for those who want to work in comfort and style without sacrificing power and performance.
If you prefer a more rugged design, then the AT4 lineup is the one for you. Not only do these truck models look fierce, but they come with extra equipment that makes off-roading a breeze. So, if your work takes you off of the pavement from time to time, this truck will not only look the part, but it will be able to handle everything you throw at it.
On the other end of the spectrum, if you need a vehicle that is mostly for commuting but you just prefer the look and feel of a pickup, you will be happy with any of the midsize Canyon trims. A little more affordable and a little easier to navigate, the Canyon still gives your vehicle some of that tough vibe that can only come from owning a truck. We’re particularly fond of the Canyon’s front look, with the headlights resembling mischievous eyes and the grille resembling a sardonic smile.
GMC Has the Work Truck You Need
There is no one size fits all truck, which is why we offer so many different truck variations. If you know what you want, then let us know, and we will show you the perfect model. If not, we can talk you through all of the options on our lot until you find the best fit.
For the driver that wants to do serious, back-breaking labor, one of the Sierra heavy-duty trucks is the answer. For the worker that wants capability but is also looking for affordability, the light-duty Sierra 1500 is the answer. Lastly, if you want a truck but don’t want to spend a lot or you worry about navigating a more cumbersome vehicle, then the Canyon is the one to check out. We’re happy to offer all these trucks on our lot to our potential customers here at Victory GMC.

Here at Victory GMC, we take immense pride in the wide selection of vehicles that we have for sale. While some people might simply describe us as a new and used GMC dealer, we tend to think of ourselves as a location that provides an essential service to the community that we all call home. With many Texas drivers looking to purchase used vehicles in order to save money, we thought it would be a good time to break down some of the significant changes to the GMC Sierra 1500 over the past five years. Knowledge is power, and the information that we’re presenting here today will allow you to make an informed decision regarding your next vehicle purchase.
2017: More Features for Family Safety
GMC has always been known for its prowess and performance, but there’s much more to being the best than simply having a high towing capacity and effective powertrain. Safety is among the most critical aspects of any vehicle purchase, and the 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 introduced a new way to deliver assurance and peace of mind to its drivers. All trims that year came standard with GMC’s Teen Driver technology. Knowing that the younger drivers in your household are adhering to the lessons you’re teaching them has long been a concern for many parents, but not anymore. This program gives you oversight into how fast your kids are driving and what habits they’re practicing behind the wheel.
For more experienced drivers, the available Enhanced Driver Alert Package adds Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking and other driver-assist technologies. A surprising number of collisions occur each year, and you might be even more surprised by how many of them occur at low speeds. GMC, always one to put its customers first, introduced these features to help prevent accidents from happening. For drivers who need a truck for towing and trailering, the 2017 Sierra 1500 also led its class for that year with a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 lbs.
2018: eAssist Arrives on the Playing Field
A gradual implementation of more hybrid and electric powertrains has occurred throughout the industry in recent years. This technology has been utilized for ever-larger vehicles to the point where all-electric trucks and SUVs are already available to the average driver. In 2018, GMC introduced eAssist to Sierra 1500 drivers nationwide after two years of testing in select markets. This mild-hybrid system consists of a small electric motor/generator that is attached to the crankshaft of the available 5.3L V8 engine.
The implementation of this device serves a two-fold purpose. It can either help the vehicle recoup energy as it decelerates or increase the engine’s output with the benefit of an additional 13 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque. Those who have heavy jobs to do can attest to the fact that every little bit of extra strength helps immensely. The 2018 model year also saw a seven-inch touchscreen IntelliLink infotainment system and rear-view camera made standard equipment on base model trucks. This provides smartphone integration, navigation via OnStar-connected services, SiriusXM satellite radio, and even the ability to stream audio via Pandora.
2019: Off-Roading Gets a Premium Upgrade
For those who favor the rough-and-tumble world of off-roading, the pickup truck has long been a preferred method to enjoy this lifestyle. In 2019, GMC introduced the AT4 trim, which was specifically designed to assist those who enjoy the path less traveled. Not only is a 5.3L V8 engine standard on the 2019 Sierra 1500 AT4, but four-wheel drive and a locking rear differential make any terrain easy to navigate. There are also further adjustments that make this vehicle a force to be reckoned with, such as a two-inch suspension lift and Rancho shock absorbers that were tailor-made for off-road performance. Perhaps one of the most fascinating features that set a new standard in the industry is the available CarbonPro carbon fiber pickup box, which had never been done before.
2020: Bringing More to the Table Than Ever Before
To say that the year 2020 was a tumultuous period would be quite an understatement. As the pandemic shook normalcy to its very foundations, new words such as “social distancing” and “quarantine” became normalized in almost any conversation. While travel was certainly limited this year, it didn’t stop GMC from unveiling one of the best Sierra 1500 models to date. A wide variety of new items were introduced that spoke to the never-ending dedication to quality repeatedly practiced by the brand.
Features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, trailer camera views, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Following Distance Indicator are all available as part of the Driver Alert Package II. There are also a wider variety of powertrains than had been available in previous years, including the new 3.0L Duramax I-6 turbo-diesel. The ProGrade trailering system makes towing easier than ever before, not to mention much safer, with the advent of oversight through various camera views. Two distinctive high-end stereo systems from Kicker and Bose allow drivers to take their entertainment to maximum volume to match the prowess that the Sierra 1500 has always offered.
2022: Footloose and Hands-Free
The most recent model year that you can find a used GMC Sierra 1500 from is also one of the most advanced and capable in memory. Of all the features that were introduced, there was none that arrived with more excitement across the entire scope of the industry than Super Cruise. GMC’s semi-autonomous driving mode, with thousands of miles of pre-programmed roads, ushered in a new era in what driver-assistance technology could be capable of.
While the previously-mentioned AT4 off-roading trim had forever changed the way GMC drivers could navigate the inhospitable terrain that lies beyond paved roads, the game was changed even further with the introduction of the AT4X trim of the 2022 Sierra 1500. The new features introduced with the AT4X trim included a boisterous 6.2L V8 engine equipped with a ten-speed automatic transmission for maximum performance and capability. Building upon the previous innovations introduced with the AT4, some of the improvements included a chassis and suspension geared towards off-roading and new springs that improved both the front and rear suspension over the previous design, once again showing that GMC was far ahead of the curve. Front and rear-locking differentials were even introduced before any other manufacturer could do so.

Whether you know precisely what you want or need some help navigating the GMC lineup, a noteworthy model is the 2023 GMC Terrain. The sporty, aggressive design gives it a demanding presence on the road. The Terrain is a four-door, compact SUV offered in a handful of trims, all of which carry a unique aspect designed to cater to the needs of drivers. Variety and options of this type appeal to GMC loyalists and new drivers alike. The Terrain is in the category of compact SUV, which has become quite competitive over the past few years. To remain a standout model, GMC has put a lot of time and effort into delivering an enjoyable drive in a quality SUV.
Loaded With Strength and Capability
The 2023 GMC Terrain is available in four trims; the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali, all featuring a four-cylinder 1.5L engine paired with the 9-speed transmission. The engine outputs a notable 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque to give you a smooth ride with no feeling of sluggishness. It also features auto start/stop for situations when the brake is applied for a short amount of time, allowing the engine to shut off and restart when needed.
If you plan to venture beyond the pavement, opt for a 2023 Terrain with all-wheel drive, which would complement the AT4 or Denali trim. All-wheel drive is also beneficial in conditions such as rain, sleet, or snow. The 2023 Terrain also offers the AWD Traction Select System, allowing you to switch between three driving modes for optimal performance, which include front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and off-road modes for any challenges you encounter during your travels. Performance-wise, the 2023 GMC Terrain also delivers solid fuel economy. As gas prices remain a consistent source of uncertainty, GMC has equipped the Terrain with notable efficiency, getting 24 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway.
The 2023 Terrain has the capability of towing 1500 lbs when properly equipped, which is an especially helpful ability when moving a camper or trailer. Paired with standard Hill Descent Control, as a Terrain driver, you’ll have confidence when dealing with steep angles. It can be enabled by pressing a button on the instrument panel and manages braking for a smooth, controlled descent without requiring the driver to press the brake. GMC has presented a well-thought design on the 2023 Terrain, providing useful features as standard parts of the vehicle, allowing drivers to explore customization options further or leave the lot with a base model still packed with innovative features.
Show-Stopping Style
Simply put, the 2023 GMC Terrain has a take-no-prisoners exterior, with an aggressive grille that flows into well-designed C-shaped headlights with well-placed angles that allow the color of the vehicle to get more of the spotlight alongside the front grille. The sides of the Terrain flow in a way that complements the harder edges of the front. In the rear, the C-shape makes an appearance again in the taillights; this combination creates a stylish SUV that is going to look good in any setting.
For 2023, GMC introduces two packages to enhance the exterior appearance of the Terrain. The Black Diamond package, available on the Denali, creates a darkened, imposing version of the Terrain. The package presents the Terrain in Ebony Twilight Metallic for its color, while the wheels are 19-inch aluminum painted wheels with the After Midnight finish. To top it all off, the package includes a power sunroof.
The second package, available on the SLT and SLE, is the Elevation Edition, giving the Terrain another unique darkened look. The wheels for this edition are 19-inch Gloss Black aluminum. The mirror caps, model badging, and accents are all black. Unlike the Black Diamond, the Elevation includes matching black roof roof-rack cross rails to store more cargo when traveling. Similarly, if you would like to have the roof-rack rails on any of the 2023 Terrain models, the Hit the Road package, which includes the rails, is also available. For 2023, the Terrain offers drivers an array of customization options, allowing them to truly tailor this fantastic SUV to their unique style and needs.
Designed to Keep You Safe and Entertained
For those who love their vehicle infotainment, you’ll love what the Terrain offers in terms of entertainment and connectivity. The 2023 Terrain offers quite a few features to stay connected, as well as several optional features. The SLE has a standard 7-inch touchscreen display, while the SLT and AT4 feature an 8-inch screen. The Denali edition also has an 8-inch screen complemented by in-dash navigation. Connectivity features include Bluetooth, Android Auto, and AppleCarPlay compatibility, so you’ll have no trouble connecting your device to the Terrain to access your apps.
Like their exterior packages, GMC offers packages to enhance your infotainment experience. The Infotainment Package II, available for the SLT and AT4, will upgrade your in-dash system to include navigation and upgrade your audio system to a Bose premium 7-speaker system. Infotainment Package I, available on the SLE, includes the navigation system but not the speakers. It does add a 4.2-inch screen on the instrument panel to display info like navigation and music. Additionally, this package adds a rear vision camera. USB ports, an SD card reader, and a power outlet are also included. Standard on all trims, in an effort to encourage safe cell phone usage, is voice technology for your mobile device.
The 2023 Terrain also prioritizes safety with an array of tools to give you maximum confidence on the road, courtesy of the GMC Pro Safety package, standard on all trims. For example, Automatic Emergency Braking works together with Forward Collision Alert to prevent or reduce damage suffered in a collision. Similarly, Front Pedestrian Braking applies this concept to situations where a pedestrian could potentially be in danger.
The Denali includes additional standard safety features, which include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which can alert you to traffic behind your vehicle, to the left or right, or when your Terrain is in reverse. For more advanced safety features, including those related to parking like Automatic Parking Assist or HD Surround Vision, consider the Denali trim is safety is the top feature on your list.
A Truly Well-Rounded Compact SUV
The 2023 GMC Terrain is a great all-around choice for anyone looking for a rugged, compact SUV equipped with a multitude of helpful tools, from an eye-catching design to features dedicated solely to keeping you safe. With space for five, it is great as a daily driver but can also handle a bit of heavy cargo with standard towing provisions. The variety of trims fit a variety of needs or desires for vehicle enhancements. For any driver that is looking for a new smaller-sized SUV, the 2023 Terrain is a worthy travel companion.
2023 is a Good Year for GMC Trucks

GMC has a great line of trucks for 2023, including the Canyon, Sierra 1500, and Sierra HD. The updated features, improved towing capacity, and great trim options make the 2023 GMC trucks a tempting option for buyers. As your local GMC dealer, we can help you find the right truck for your needs, whether that be a midsize model for your everyday commute or a full-size option that can handle hard work.
When searching for a truck to purchase, there are many considerations you will want to take into account. What are you using the truck for? Construction, ranching, and off-road driving all have different requirements for a truck to properly suit the application. Will the truck have the power you need for hauling a trailer? While all the GMC trucks can haul trailers, each has a different max towing capacity, so you are going to need to make sure you are finding a model that has the full capability you require.
GMC Truck Models
The most compact truck GMC is producing in 2023 is the Canyon. Available in four trim options, the Canyon is a great small truck with a lot of power for its size. It is capable of towing up to 7,700 lbs and has a max payload of 1,640 lbs. Not only does this truck get stuff done, but it gets it done safely. All the modern safety features you’d hope for on a new vehicle are available, including HD rear vision camera, lane departure warning system, forward collision alert, rear park assist, and Teen Driver. GMC has added all these safety features to help make the roads a safer place to drive, both for you and for others around you.
The Sierra 1500 is GMC’s light-duty truck. It is an excellent option for contractors, ranchers, and anyone who wants a good truck. The Sierra offers a best-in-class four-wheel drive maximum diesel towing capacity of 13,000 lbs. If you need towing capacity greater than that, you’ll want to consider the Sierra 2500 or 3500 HD. The 1500 offers a great balance of size and function. With up to 2,240 lbs of payload capacity, you could carry almost 250 2×4 studs. The Sierra 1500 is a quality truck with great modern safety features, designed to perform well and do it safely. The eight trim options provide a great degree of customizability for every need. Are you looking to do more off-roading? We have trim options to suit that need. Getting a new company vehicle? We have great trim options for that need as well.
When you need ultimate power, the Sierra HD is going to be the best truck in the GMC lineup for you. With a max towing capacity of 36,000 lbs for the 2500 HD and transparent trailer view, towing has never been easier. The 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque of the 6.6L turbo-diesel V8 make this one of the most powerful in-class trucks produced today. The five trim options give you the flexibility to design the best truck for your application.
The safety features are also mind-blowing. One of the biggest challenges of hauling a large trailer is the lack of visibility. With up to 15 available camera views, including the transparent trailer view, you can see easily around your whole truck. The transparent trailer view is just what it sounds like––a rear-facing camera that allows you to see through your trailer. GMC has also introduced a first-in-class 15-inch diagonal head-up display. This allows you to see key truck information in the lower section of your windshield, so you can keep your eyes on the road without needing to look down at the dashboard.
Safety Comes First for GMC
Safety is always a top concern for GMC, and their truck line is no different. From the available High definition rear vision camera to the transparent trailer functionality, GMC trucks allow you to see your surroundings more clearly than ever before. These trucks help you navigate tight spaces better than ever visibility, using up to 15 cameras on the Sierra HD and 14 on the Sierra.
While driving down the road, these trucks can utilize another collection of great safety features from GMC. The GMC Pro Safety system is an advanced collection of driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technology to keep the occupants and other vehicles safe. The truck safety system can help ensure the car stays in its lane, maintains a consistent distance from the vehicle in front of it, and slow the truck down to avoid colliding with another vehicle in front of it.
High Tech Trucks
So these trucks are powerful, durable, and safe, but what kind of tech and comfort can you expect on the inside? GMC has great connectivity options for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can easily hook up your phone to the infotainment system. The available infotainment screen can also be integrated with a navigation system. The included A/C system will provide you with comfort during any weather. These trucks also provide many controls on the steering wheel so you can adjust volume, skip songs, or answer calls, all without taking your hands off the wheel.
The different trim options range from basic seats to leather-trimmed luxurious seats. The sound system can be made with Bose speakers. It can even include the MultiPro audio system by Kicker, which can be integrated with the tailgate, allowing you to listen to your favorite music outdoors while your truck is off. Pretty great way to tailgate if you ask us. GMC also includes tons of interior storage options so you can keep all your stuff organized and ready at hand when you need it. Several storage options can lock to keep them safer in case of a break-in as well. There are too many interior design options to cover them all in this article, but you can be assured there are options that you will love.
Sleek Exterior Options
GMC has sleek and aggressive body design, tons of great color options, and an available spray-on bedliner. There are multiple grill options, from black to chrome. Whether you are looking to get a Canyon, Sierra, or Sierra HD, there is sure to be a trim package with a color you will love.
Front recovery hooks come standard on all models with all trim, though the color varies. Certain trims come with different wheels that range in size, from 17 inches all the way up to 22 inches, with lots of different styling. The truck bed sizes also vary greatly. The 2023 Canyon gives you a 5.1-ft bed. The Sierra 1500 has three options: 5.8-ft, 6.6-ft, and 8.2-ft. Finally, the Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD have two options, a 6.9-ft and an 8.2-ft bed. GMC even makes an available side step next to the truck bed so you can easily grab whatever you need.
GMC Makes a Truck for Every Application
Not sure if GMC is a good fit for your needs? GMC has been making trucks for over 100 years, so they know what makes a good truck function well and last a long time. Their trucks can make your life easier by finding which truck best matches your needs. Whether you’re a big construction contractor who routinely hauls huge trailers or a rancher who needs to move your horse trailer around from time to time, GMC has a truck to match your needs. Take a look at the Canyon, the Sierra, or the Sierra HD here at Victory GMC, and you’ll see why GMC is one of the top truck manufacturers.
Check Out the Amazing 2023 GMC Lineup

If you’re looking for a fantastic SUV or truck, then GMC has you covered with a selection of the most impressive and stylish models on the road. As your GMC dealership near Corpus Christi, TX, we’re sure it’s no surprise that we’re fans of their lineup, but even with any preferences we might have aside, there’s no denying that what GMC offers is extraordinary. The beauty of their lineup is that it has been streamlined nicely to offer the perfect selection of vehicles, presenting you with excellent variety without going overboard or giving you too much to choose from. There is such a thing as too many options, after all.
That being said, you still have plenty of amazing choices available to you with the GMC lineup, so it can help to take a look at all of them and get a sense of what’s on offer. Let’s briefly go through the lineup this year to see what each of these models offers and get a sense of which one might be right for you.
Fantastic GMC SUVs
The GMC Terrain
First up is the GMC Terrain, a compact crossover model designed to perfectly meet your needs if you are looking for a smaller option that still delivers remarkable SUV functionality. GMC has made its SUV lineup simple by only having three/four models (depending on how you consider them), and this is the smallest model they make. There’s a single engine available here for sporty performance, though you still have numerous options for trim levels and the features you get inside and out. This is a two-row model with seating for up to five passengers inside, making it a terrific choice if you want something that can fit into a modest lifestyle while still giving you a spacious interior for friends and family.
The GMC Acadia
The GMC Acadia is a larger model than the Terrain, though it’s still far from the biggest SUV that you’ll find in GMC’s lineup. This is a three-row model, giving you room inside for up to seven passengers; keep in mind that the third row can be a bit small for adults with long legs. You get plenty of functional space inside this SUV, including almost 13 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume, more than 41 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row, and 79 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. There are two engines offered on the Acadia, and we’re big fans of the available 3.6L V6 with its 310 hp for an exciting time behind the wheel.
The GMC Yukon/Yukon XL
Finally, we have two options for a full-size SUV from GMC; you can think of the Yukon and Yukon XL as two different models in terms of their size, but they offer nearly identical features and options in most other ways. No matter which one you choose, you’ll get a full-size SUV with three rows of seating inside. There are three engines available for both of the Yukon models, including a powerful 6.2L V8 with 420 hp, as well as a Turbo-Diesel if that’s something you’re interested in for your next SUV.
The major distinction between the two Yukon models is their size: the Yukon XL is quite a bit longer than the Yukon, with a longer wheelbase too. This comes through in several ways, but the easiest way to understand the difference between them is by looking at the cargo space inside. The Yukon has more than 25 cu.ft. of rear cargo space, with more than 72 cu.ft. of space behind the second row and nearly 123 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. With the Yukon XL, you’ll find more than 41 cu.ft. of rear cargo space, almost 94 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row, and more than 144 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front row.
Powerful GMC Trucks
The GMC Canyon
First, we have the Canyon, which is a midsize pickup that’s perfect if you want something with impressive power and capability that won’t be too big. There’s no denying that full-size trucks are incredibly popular, but there can be “too much truck” for some people. The midsize Canyon comes with a 2.7L Turbo engine that delivers 310 hp, giving you impressive power packed into its modest frame. This gives the Canyon up to 7,700 lbs of maximum towing capacity and up to 1,640 lbs of payload capacity. Despite its smaller size, you can still get plenty of work done with the Canyon, plus the available AT4 trim is perfect for going off-road.
The GMC Sierra 1500
If the Canyon is not quite big enough for you, then the full-size light-duty GMC Sierra 1500 is the perfect choice. This pickup gives you more room to utilize, plus numerous engines to choose from so that it can handle as much work as you need it to. It starts with the same impressive 2.7L Turbo engine as the Canyon, but available options include a 420-hp 6.2L V8 engine and a 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel with 495 lb-ft of torque.
With either the 6.2L V8 or the diesel engine, the Sierra 1500 can handle up to 13,000 lbs of towing, giving you fantastic power and capability to tackle just about anything you throw at it. There are tons of different trims available, so you can get just what you need, including off-road focused AT4 options and the new Denali Ultimate with incredible luxury and technology packed into it.
The GMC Sierra HD Series
While the Sierra 1500 is a fantastic truck, you might still need more power than it can offer; in which case, one of the Sierra HD models is perfect for your more challenging needs. The Sierra 2500 HD is a powerful full-size truck that can handle up to 18,510 lbs of towing thanks to its available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine with 910 lb-ft of torque. For truly extraordinary power and capability, however, the GMC Sierra 3500 HD is unbeatable thanks to an available dual-rear-wheel configuration that offers up to 36,000 lbs of gooseneck or fifth-wheel towing. Combine all that power with the luxury of the Denali trim, and you have something truly special to take to the job site.
The GMC Hummer EV Pickup
Finally, we have something new and particularly exciting: the Hummer EV Pickup, an all-electric marvel that combines incredible power with exquisite sophistication to create one of the most remarkable Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) on the market. You have two different configurations to choose from, with either two motors or three motors, delivering up to 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. All of this power lets the Hummer EV Pickup go from 0 to 60 in just 3.0 seconds, while innovative technology like the Crabwalk function and Extract Mode is perfect for navigating tight quarters and getting through tough situations on the trail.
Which GMC Is Right for You?
As you can see, GMC offers a selection of some of the most impressive SUVs and trucks that you will find anywhere. The GMC Canyon
If you’re interested in a midsize truck, then you’re really in luck this year, as the 2023 GMC Canyon is launching an all-new generation with incredible features. Redesigned for the new model year, the 2023 Canyon has a lot in common with its cousin, the Chevy Colorado, but brings a fair amount of its own style and features to the road. This includes a bold look with an aggressive stance that sits higher than the previous generation, creating improved performance and off-road capability. Standard features on the Canyon include an 8-inch infotainment display and a powerful 2.7L Turbo I-4 engine that delivers 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.
Of particular note, this year is the first-ever Canyon AT4X model engineered as the most impressive off-road midsize truck GMC has ever delivered. The AT4X features a factory lift, 33-inch MT tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers for incredible trail performance, underbody skid plates, and much more. Thanks to its off-road design, the AT4X has 10.7 inches of ground clearance and a 36.9-degree approach angle. It comes with an exclusive Obsidian Rush interior with Ceramic White accents, a customizable 11.3-inch Infotainment display, an 11-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a Bose seven-speaker sound system.
The GMC Sierra 1500
If you’re looking for a full-size truck with excellent power and great features throughout, then the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 is a terrific choice. For the 2023 model year, GMC continues to build on the legendary reputation of the Sierra pickup, including an available second-generation Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine that delivers 10% more horsepower and 7.6% more torque than last year’s model. This impressive upgrade means the available Turbo-Diesel can now handle more trailering than any other engine for the Sierra 1500, giving it up to 13,200 lbs of maximum towing capacity.
Inside the Sierra 1500, you’ll find an incredible interior with amazing available features like a 13.4-inch Infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology. A GMC Pro Safety package is standard, so every model comes with a forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and much more. For 2023, an all-new AT4X AEV Edition is now available with a unique design and features that are perfect for going off-road. These include stamped steel front and rear bumpers, five hot-stamped boron steel skid plates, 18-inch AEV Salta wheels wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, and much more for hitting the trail.
The GMC Sierra HD Series
For amazing power that goes beyond what the Sierra 1500 can do, take a good look at the GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks. These heavy-duty models take performance and capability to the next level, giving you great choices if you need the highest levels of payload and towing ability. The Sierra 2500 HD can handle more than 3,900 lbs of maximum payload and up to 18,500 lbs of towing. With the Sierra 3500 HD, you can get more than 7,000 lbs of maximum payload capacity and up to 36,000 lbs of gooseneck/fifth-wheel towing when properly equipped. You have powerful gas and diesel engines to choose from, so you can get the heavy-duty muscle you need with fantastic technology for connectivity and towing.
The GMC Hummer EV Pickup
One of the most innovative trucks out there, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup showcases GM’s incredible new Ultium battery architecture to deliver amazing power and performance. The available three-motor model offers 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of axle torque to give you a driving experience beyond anything else you can find. Combine that with incredible new technology like the Watts to Freedom system (letting it go from 0 to 60 in about 3 seconds) and CrabWalk functionality with an available Extract Mode that can give you heightened ground clearance and diagonal driving to help you get out of any spot.
Able to get an estimated 329 miles of range from a full charge, the Hummer EV Pickup can get about 100 miles of range from a 10-minute charge. Add onto this the ability to tow up to 7,500 lbs and handle up to 1,300 lbs of payload capacity, and you have an all-electric truck beyond anything else out there. Plus, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup takes technology even further with GM’s innovative new Super Cruise hands-free driving system, which was recently updated to include automatic lane changing. This remarkable tech functions on more than 200,000 miles of compatible roads in the US and Canada.
The GMC Terrain
If you’re looking for a sporty crossover, the Terrain is a great place to start, as it’s the smallest of the three SUVs available from GMC. For the 2023 model year, the standard 1.5L Turbo engine has been improved and now delivers 175 hp for enhanced performance and a terrific driving experience. Available in numerous trims, including GMC’s remarkable Denali trim, the Terrain has an available 8-inch infotainment system, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and much more. There’s more than 63 cu.ft. of total cargo space behind the front seats of the Terrain, so while it’s a small model, you still get plenty of room to utilize.
The GMC Acadia
The GMC Acadia sits right in the middle of this SUV lineup, giving you the perfect option if you want something that’s neither too small nor too big. An 8-inch infotainment display is available on the starting model and comes standard on most trims, along with a hands-free power liftgate and more. You have two excellent engines to choose from, with up to 310 hp, plus you can get available all-wheel drive with active torque control for boosted performance and precision. This is a three-row midsize SUV with plenty of room for friends and family, plus up to 79 cu.ft. of total cargo space behind the front seats.
The GMC Yukon/Yukon XL
If you want a gorgeous full-size SUV, then the two GMC Yukon models are amazing options with a lot to offer inside and out. You can get the same features on both SUVs, but the Yukon XL is longer with an extended wheelbase; the standard Yukon has up to 122.9 cu.ft. of total cargo volume inside, while the Yukon XL gives you 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the front row. You get a standard 10.2-inch Infotainment system in the Yukon with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus amazing standard and available safety features. For the 2023 model year, both Yukon models are available with a new Denali Ultimate trim that takes features even further, including Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.
