GMC Sierra
2021 GMC Sierra Denali

Since its launch just over 60 years ago, the GMC Sierra pickup truck has been a beacon of performance, reliability, and excellence in the automotive world. Drivers have been able to count on the Sierra for decades with its bold look, comfortable ride, and the toughness to go anywhere they want. So, in 2021, GMC has repaid pickup fans’ faith yet again. The brand new 2021 GMC Sierra has the capability folks have come to expect and the sophistication and style that they demand. It’s a steel fist in a very comfortable velvet glove, and once you climb inside, you won’t ever want to drive anything else.

Is the GMC Sierra Better than the Chevy Silverado?

The GMC Sierra vs. Chevy Silverado debate has gone on for as long as these trucks have been produced. That’s because they share so much of the same technology, styling cues and features. Many times, for truck buyers, it comes down to dogged brand loyalty or just a slight preference. But, if you consult the experts, the 2021 Sierra wins out in a couple of key categories. The folks at U.S. News say that both the 2021 Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierra share a lot of the same very good qualities… but that the Sierra 1500 offers a better ride quality compared to the Silverado. Plus, the team from Car and Driver notes the Sierra has more precise steering and less body roll than other trucks. Compared to the Silverado, the Sierra offers some exclusive features like adaptive dampers and a carbon fiber cargo box. Then there’s the look of the GMC: bolder than the Silverado, with those C-shaped lighting elements, LED headlights, and a massive front grille that separates it from the Silverado’s double-stacked design. Finally – and most importantly to everyone’s bank accounts – the Sierra is more affordable by thousands of dollars (with the same level of engine, features, and technology).

What’s New for the 2021 GMC Sierra?

For the new 2021 Sierra, GMC has trained their focus on giving their flagship truck some outstanding new or enhanced trailer-assistance features. GMC knows that truck owners love nothing more than using their vehicle to bring the party with them – but savvy buyers demand safety. So, GMC added a jack-knife alert that gives drivers the heads up in the event of this braking disaster. There is also a new trailer-length safety indicator that lets the driver know when nearby traffic might interfere with the trailer connected behind. Additionally, in 2021, GMC gave the people more of what they love – the Sierra’s Multipro tailgate is now available in more models and trims. Plus, there are more paint color options, and the high-performance, off-road AT4 model adds new Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires and a high-clearance step. For those of us that demand the tried and true performance of the Duramax – while also searching out a deal – the optional diesel engine also gets a $1,500 discount from last year’s truck. There are a handful of new driving modes added for 2021, as well, to aid and enhance the driving experience. The settings include Tour (which is the default), Sport, Tow/Haul, and Off-Road, with each altering throttle response, transmission shift points, steering effort, and stability-control programming.

The 2021 Sierra comes in three general trim groups, all of which boast an impressive set of aggressive styling, cutting edge technology, and groundbreaking safety features.

GMC Acadia

Lauded for its luxury, cutting-edge technology and unmatched versatility, the 2021 GMC Acadia is one of the best all-around midsize SUVs in its class. Unlike many of its competitors, the Acadia doesn’t force you to cut corners but instead presents a well-balanced approach of practicality and premium features that many buyers in this segment are looking for. The 2021 GMC Acadia is available in five trim levels, with each one uniquely suited to accommodate individuals and families who desire a different level of performance, capability, and refinement.

2021 GMC Acadia SL, SLE & SLT

The SL is the entry-level trim for the 2021 GMC Acadia, offering no shortage of premium features and technology. An eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Wireless Apple CarPlay, Wireless Android Auto and HD rear vision camera are included standard—many features only found in more upscale models.

Though they share different trim designations, the SLE and SLT are similar in appearance and amenity offerings. The key attribute that differentiates the two models is the available powertrain choice. The Acadia SLE comes standard with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. It’s the most fuel-efficient powertrain offered in the Acadia and is the ideal choice for those who value maximum fuel-economy and range, yielding an EPA estimated 21-mpg city and 27-mpg highway rating.

The 2021 Acadia SLT comes with a more powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. An SUV of this size certainly benefits from the additional low-rpm torque of the force fed I4—feeling less labored in the hills with far superior passing power compared to the naturally-aspirated offering.

Both trims come standard with LED headlamps and LED taillamps with GMC’s signature C-shape design. Stylish 18-inch machined aluminum wheels give the SLE and SLT an elegant appearance, while the interior styling is highlighted by premium craftsmanship and versatile three-row seating options that can accommodate up to seven passengers.

The SLT also comes standard with first and second-row leather seating surfaces and a hands-free power liftgate with GMC logo projection—two features not available on the SLE.

2021 GMC Acadia AT4

The AT4 is the most capable and off-road oriented Acadia trim and the obvious choice for adventure seekers. Available exclusively in AWD, (it’s optional on all other trims) the AT4’s standard Active Torque Control AWD System, twin-clutch rear axle and 17-inch all-terrain tires ensure this Acadia will perform admirably in light and moderate off-roading situations.

The AT4 is also a more spirited performer than the SLE and SLT as well—with a larger standard 3.6L V6 engine delivering additional grunt. Rated at 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, the AT4’s larger mill doesn’t go unnoticed in both daily-driving and off-road settings.

Inside, an 8.0” infotainment system with navigation, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Wireless Android Auto, and an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system are also included standard—allowing you to jam out to your favorite Spotify playlist in crystal clarity without the hassle of wires.

2021 GMC Acadia Denali

Just as its trim designation suggests, the Acadia Denali soars above the competition in terms of overall luxury and refinement. The Denali shares the AT4’s standard 3.6L powertrain, and is available in both FWD and AWD designations.

The Acadia Denali is clouded in an aura of sophistication—immediate at first glance from the sheen of its 20-inch ultra-bright machined aluminum wheels and signature chrome grille. Inside, real ash wood accents and warm-tone burnished aluminum trim adorn the cabin, while passengers comfortably sink into Denali’s supple leather-seating surfaces with French seam stitching and embroidered headrests.

A standard 6.0-inch head-up display, available HD Surround Vision, and available Rear Camera Mirror add to the Denali’s host of upgraded technology equipment.

2021 GMC Acadia Pricing

Acadia SL: MSRP from $30,995

Acadia SLE: MSRP from $34,795

Acadia SLT: MSRP from $39,995

Acadia AT4: MSRP from $42,295

Acadia Denali: MSRP from $47,495

Hummer EV SUV

Since it was unveiled in late October 2020, most of the automotive industry’s focus has been on the highly anticipated release of the all-electric 2022 GMC Hummer EV supertruck. Amidst the chaos and media frenzy, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV has been seemingly lost in the fray.

Though it’s seemingly been kept under wraps, it’s true that a new electric Hummer SUV will also be welcomed into the fold. This will mark the first time a Hummer badged SUV has been available for more than a decade—as the H3 was last offered in 2010 before the General Motors dismantled the brand.

Given new life as a GMC sub-brand, the Hummer EV SUV is as far removed from the gas-guzzling Hummer H2 and H3 models of the past as a new vehicle can get. From the moment it arrives on dealership lots, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV will be among the most powerful, efficient and technologically advanced SUVs in the world.

2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV Propulsion and Performance

Like the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup, the SUV will likely offer an assortment of different trims—each delivering a hierarchy structure of performance and maximum range. One can expect the published figures of the Hummer EV truck and upcoming EV SUV to be similar.

In the EV2 trim, two electric motors produce 625 horsepower and 7,400 lb-ft of torque with a 250+ mile range. In EV2X trim, the performance figures remain the same, but the maximum range is further extended to 300+ miles.

In EV3X trim, three electric motors rated at 800 horsepower and 9,500 lb-ft of torque power the Hummer EV—with an estimated range of 300+ miles. And in the range-topping Hummer EV Edition 1, three electric motors produce 1000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque with an astounding 350+ mile range.

In EV Edition 1 trim, the Hummer is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in approximately three seconds. If the SUV can match those figures, a potential Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 would offer even quicker acceleration than the legendary Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV Technology and Off-Road Equipment

Like the Hummer EV pickup, the EV SUV is expected to be a technological haven. The truck’s massive 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 13.4-inch infotainment screen should carry over, in addition to GM’s standard Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system.

The Hummer EV SUV will also likely feature most if not all of the truck’s suite of off-road equipment—like its Adaptive Air Suspension, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, available front e-lockers, and virtual rear lockers to optimize traction and control in various terrains. Available 4-wheel steering also enables the Hummer to “Crabwalk,” which would allow the SUV to travel diagonally at low speeds to maneuver through tight trails.

2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV Pricing and Release Date

The GMC Hummer EV truck will be available in four trims: EV2 (starting at $79,995), EV2X (starting at $89,995), EV3X (starting at $99,995) and EV Edition 1 (starting at $112,595).

The GMC Hummer EV SUV could likely follow a similar trim and pricing structure, though Car and Driver said interested parties should expect the model to start at $75,000 and arrive sometime in 2023.

HUMMER EV

When the GMC Hummer EV concept was unveiled to the world, it was unlike any other pickup truck the automotive industry had ever seen. Though it may share a name with the departed Hummer brand, that’s where the similarities between the two end.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is set to be GM’s first entry into an emerging electric truck segment. As electric car offerings from competing automakers have exploded in popularity during the past decade, it’s only natural that electric trucks will follow suit. With the Hummer EV set to release in the fall of 2021, GM will be the first major automaker to set the standard.

GMC Hummer EV Set to Ignite Electric Pickup Revolution

Being first isn’t a distinction GM engineers have taken lightly. This is a far taller task than the development of an electric car—a segment where the majority of buyers are looking for a Point A to Point B mode of transportation. Sure, these cars have to be stylish, comfortable, hyper-efficient and possess an adequate EV range—but nothing more is really asked of them.

The typical truck buyer is a little harder to win over. When purchasing a pickup, most are looking for something more than a typical daily driver. It’s a modicum of adventure—a tool they intend to put to work. Consequently, truck buyers demand an adequate towing capacity, a higher level of performance and superior off-road capabilities than families who are shopping for sedans and SUVs.

Sticker Shock? Think Again

Perhaps some were scared away by the 2022 Hummer EV’s announced $112,595 starting price, but as you begin to explore its unrivaled performance and suite of next generation technology, you must realize that world-class innovation doesn’t always come cheap. When the iPhone was first launched in 2007, did you expect it to cost less than the popular Motorola Razr that had already been on the market a few years?

Though it may not be a direct comparison, the technology gap between the 2022 Hummer EV and other pickup trucks is certainly relatable. The Hummer EV is nothing short of a technological marvel, featuring three electric motors that deliver 1,000 horsepower and a real torque figure approaching 1,100 lb-ft, according to GMC insiders. These preposterous figures result in a zero to 60 mph acceleration time of approximately three seconds.

Off-Road Dominance Powered by Next Gen Technology

All-wheel drive is standard on the Hummer EV, and it will be able to overcome off-road obstacles with ease thanks to its specially engineered 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires. The Hummer EV’s available Adaptive Air Suspension lowers the ride height two inches for better aerodynamic efficiency on the highway, and automatically adjusts to provide an additional two inches of ground clearance for off-road debauchery. Extract Mode can be activated in moments of peril that raises the EV’s suspension six inches beyond stock ride height when traversing over boulders or fording water.

Available 4-Wheel Steering is also offered on the Hummer EV, which reduces turning radius and eases parallel parking maneuvers. This feature is also extremely useful off-road, as the 4-wheel steering allows the Hummer EV to “CrabWalk.” With 10 degrees of adjustability in either direction, the Hummer EV can actually drive diagonally at slow speeds to maneuver through tight spaces on trails—simulating the movement of a crab.

The Hummer EV will also offer the latest version of Super Cruise—GM’s driver assistance technology featuring hands-free driving and lane changing on compatible roads. With an estimated 350 miles of electric range, the Hummer EV can provide up to 100 miles of range in only 10 minutes of charging time.

2022 GMC Hummer EV Pricing and Availability

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV will be available in the fall of 2021. Only the fully loaded Hummer EV Edition 1 will be available at launch, which starts at $112,595. Reservations are currently full, but less expensive trims will come later in starting in 2022. Contact Victory Buick GMC if you’d like to learn more!

Denali

Denali Trim Evolves into Premium Sub-Brand

Denali Trim Evolves into Premium Sub-Brand

The iconic Denali nameplate first appeared in 1997 on a GMC Yukon concept vehicle. It was so well received in fact, that the Yukon Denali went on sale as a production vehicle in late 1998. It featured many key differences that set it apart from the rest of the Yukon lineup—including a new front clip, unique body moldings and monochromatic paint scheme. These days, GMC Denali vehicles are more popular than ever. In 2019 Denali vehicles accounted for a sizable portion of all GMC vehicles sold.

What Does GMC Denali Mean?

The name itself is derived from “Denali,” the highest mountain peak in North America with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet above sea level. It’s said to be symbolic of GMC’s goals—to rise above the industry standards of other trucks and SUVs built by competing brands.

2021 GMC Denali Models

Today, the Denali trim is no longer reserved for a singular model. It’s spread throughout the entire GMC lineup and is now offered on the Sierra, Canyon, Terrain, Acadia and Yukon. Below are some of the key features that separate Denali models from lesser trim levels.

The 2021 GMC Sierra Denali comes standard with the industry’s first six-function MultiPro Tailgate and segment exclusive Continuous Damping Adaptive Ride Control. A 15-inch head-up display, Rear Camera Mirror, and class-leading 15 camera views are also available on the Sierra Denali.

The 2021 Sierra Denali starts at $55,200.

The 2021 GMC Canyon Denali comes standard with 20-inch diamond cut machined aluminum wheels, a Bose premium audio system, wireless smartphone charging and Driver Alert Package. Heated and ventilated leather-appointed front seats are also available.

The 2021 Canyon Denali starts at $41,395.

The 2021 GMC Terrain comes standard with a more powerful 252-horsepower 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a new Denali premium suspension, LED headlamps with signature lighting and GMC Pro Safety with an array of driver-alert and active safety technologies.

The 2021 GMC Terrain Denali pricing has yet to be announced, though 2020 models started at $38,300 for comparison.

The 2021 GMC Acadia comes standard with a more powerful 310-horsepower 3.6L V6 engine, 20-inch ultra-bright machined aluminum wheels, a six-inch diagonal head-up display and GMC Pro Safety Plus. High Definition Surround Vision is also available.

The 2021 GMC Acadia Denali starts at $46,300.

The 2021 GMC Yukon was rebuilt from the ground up, with a focus on attention to detail and modernizing the model with upscale materials and upgraded technology. The body has a new look, and the interior is crammed full of exciting, high-tech features and added niceties.

It’s still the perfect fit for families or those who love to pack up and spend the weekend outdoors. The Yukon now boasts additional storage and cargo space, accentuated by a roomier cabin that makes riding in comfort an everyday occurrence.

The redesigned grille conveys a sense of power, while breath-taking colors such as Midnight Blue Metallic or Cayenne Red Tintcoat give the 2021 GMC Yukon a level of class and sophistication that’s sure to turn heads.

2021 GMC Yukon: The Specs

Also new with the 2021 GMC Yukon are the three available engine options: a 5.3L, 355-horsepower V-8, a 6.2L, 420-horsepower V-8, and a 3L turbo diesel. All models come equipped with a 10-speed automatic transition.

The 5.3L V-8 is estimated to get about 16 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. There are currently no estimates available for the 6.2L V-8 or the 3L diesel. While the gas mileage won’t have you jumping for joy, all three engines feature best-in-class horsepower and the torque needed to tow just about anything your heart desires.

2021 GMC Yukon: Standard Features to Know About

These days, when it comes to buying a brand new car, the first (and often most important) question is what cutting-edge technology comes standard? In the 2021 GMC Yukon, there’s more than enough to please even the most future-focused of drivers.

All models of the new Yukon feature a 10.2” infotainment display that includes GMC’s IntelliTech system that makes using your apps and entertainment a breeze. Other exciting tech features like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, 4G LTE WiFi, and a digital Driver Information Center all come standard.

Finally, you need to know your ride will be technologically advanced as well as safe. That’s where standard features such as automated emergency braking and forward collision alert come in.

That is, until you visit Victory Buick GMC and turn that dream into reality.
