Your Guide to the 2021 GMC Acadia Trims & Packages

Lauded for its luxury, cutting-edge technology and unmatched versatility, the 2021 GMC Acadia is one of the best all-around midsize SUVs in its class. The 2021 GMC Acadia is available in five trim levels, with each one uniquely suited to accommodate individuals and families who desire a different level of performance, capability, and refinement.

2021 GMC Acadia SL, SLE & SLT

The SL is the entry-level trim for the 2021 GMC Acadia, offering no shortage of premium features and technology. An eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Wireless Apple CarPlay, Wireless Android Auto and HD rear vision camera are included standard—many features only found in more upscale models.

Though they share different trim designations, the SLE and SLT are similar in appearance and amenity offerings. The key attribute that differentiates the two models is the available powertrain choice. The Acadia SLE comes standard with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. It’s the most fuel-efficient powertrain offered in the Acadia and is the ideal choice for those who value maximum fuel-economy and range, yielding an EPA estimated 21-mpg city and 27-mpg highway rating.

The 2021 Acadia SLT comes with a more powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. An SUV of this size certainly benefits from the additional low-rpm torque of the force fed I4—feeling less labored in the hills with far superior passing power compared to the naturally-aspirated offering.   

Both trims come standard with LED headlamps and LED taillamps with GMC’s signature C-shape design. Stylish 18-inch machined aluminum wheels give the SLE and SLT an elegant appearance, while the interior styling is highlighted by premium craftsmanship and versatile three-row seating options that can accommodate up to seven passengers.

The SLT also comes standard with first and second-row leather seating surfaces and a hands-free power liftgate with GMC logo projection—two features not available on the SLE.

2021 GMC Acadia AT4

The AT4 is the most capable and off-road oriented Acadia trim and the obvious choice for adventure seekers. Available exclusively in AWD, (it’s optional on all other trims) the AT4’s standard Active Torque Control AWD System, twin-clutch rear axle and 17-inch all-terrain tires ensure this Acadia will perform admirably in light and moderate off-roading situations.

The AT4 is also a more spirited performer than the SLE and SLT as well—with a larger standard 3.6L V6 engine delivering additional grunt. Rated at 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, the AT4’s larger mill doesn’t go unnoticed in both daily-driving and off-road settings.

Inside, an 8.0” infotainment system with navigation, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Wireless Android Auto, and an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system are also included standard—allowing you to jam out to your favorite Spotify playlist in crystal clarity without the hassle of wires.

2021 GMC Acadia Denali

Just as its trim designation suggests, the Acadia Denali soars above the competition in terms of overall luxury and refinement. The Denali shares the AT4’s standard 3.6L powertrain, and is available in both FWD and AWD designations.

The Acadia Denali is clouded in an aura of sophistication—immediate at first glance from the sheen of its 20-inch ultra-bright machined aluminum wheels and signature chrome grille. Inside, real ash wood accents and warm-tone burnished aluminum trim adorn the cabin, while passengers comfortably sink into Denali’s supple leather-seating surfaces with French seam stitching and embroidered headrests.

A standard 6.0-inch head-up display, available HD Surround Vision, and available Rear Camera Mirror add to the Denali’s host of upgraded technology equipment.
